  Kiamichi Owa Chito “Festival of the Forest”  

The Kiamichi Owa-Chito Festival of the Forest is held annually the third weekend in June. This festival is held in Broken Bow at the beautiful Beavers Bend Resort Park. The purpose of Kiamichi Owa-Chito, Inc. is to stage an annual Festival of the Forest in an effort to acquaint the people of Oklahoma and the world with the beauty, heritage, culture, industry and progress in Kiamichi Country.

Recent Acquisitions (2018)

Recent Acquisitions includes works by Toshiko Takaezu, Chase Kahwinhut Earles, Acee Blue Eagle, Mayumi Makino Kiefer, and others. The show also features ethnographic art from around the world. The items on display were selected from the 650 objects the Museum obtained within the past year. A few of the selected works can be seen below. The exhibit will remain on display until January 27, 2019.

Beginner-level Knitting Workshop

The Museum will host a beginner-level knitting workshop on January 19. The class is scheduled for 10 am to 3 pm and will break at noon for lunch. Attendees will learn how to create a scarf using 6mm knitting needles. Cost is $45; all supplies are provided.
